| VAP Cholesterol Test Covers 90 Percent Of Arizona Insured
Largest private insurers in Arizona as well as Medicare, Medicaid and the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program now cover the VAP (Vertical Auto Profile) Test, the most comprehensive cholesterol test available. That means almost 90 percent of all insured lives in Arizona now have insurance coverage for the VAP Test, which finds twice as many people at risk than the standard cholesterol test."The state of Arizona is extremely progressive in preventive health," said Atherotech Chief Medical Officer James Ehrlich, M.D. "The highly accurate VAP Test allows the clinician to target high-risk patients for specific therapy that could help prevent millions of future heart attacks and strokes. I am confident that the VAP Test will continue to be regarded as the best and most cost-effective laboratory method to precisely identify vulnerable individuals who may be at risk for the nation's leading killer, cardiovascular disease."People with a family history or an existing condition of diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease -- or who are already taking cholesterol lowering medication -- are candidates for the comprehensive VAP Test.

Security shambles as airport is invaded for third night in row
Also, history is important to remember here. It was a decision at the UN, rightly or wrongly, that formed the state of Isreal following the WWII. Unfortunately, we will need to live with that. But one way to get the Middle East focused on their own problems and get the West out of the game in the region is to become less dependent on their natural resources. .
Fundraiser for nature-based kids program will feature noted musician
Kids and Creeks, a Chico nonprofit that works with schools to promote science education and watershed health, is hosting a fundraiser tonight at the El Rey Theatre. The event is sold out, due in part by an appearance from singer-songwriter Brett Dennen, who was named one of Rolling Stone magazine's "10 Artists To Watch" in its November issue. Kids and Creeks, which says it has provided more than 10,000 hours of community service and hosted field trips for more than 7,000 kids from 60 elementary school classes, ties its efforts into educational curriculum. "Working with some of the standard base curriculum (schools) have to meet, we bring elementary-aged students into the field," Kids and Creeks President Mark Lynch said Friday. "We meet the requirements of the state standards for teaching by doing it experientially.
Billie Holiday, Live: A Biography in Music
"Billie must have come from another world," said Roy Eldridge, often heard accompanying her on trumpet, "because nobody had the effect on people she had. I've seen her make them cry and make them happy." Lady Day, as tenor saxophonist Lester Young named Billie Holiday, still has that effect through the many reissues of her recordings, including the recently released "Lady Day: The Master Takes and Singles" of the 1933-44 sessions (Columbia/Legacy, available on Amazon) that established her in the jazz pantheon. I grew up listening to those sides, which infectiously demonstrated -- as pianist Bobby Tucker, her longtime pianist, noted -- that "she could swing the hardest in any tempo, even if it was like a dirge . . . wherever it was, she could float on top of it." But none of the previous reissues, as imperishable as they are, have as intense a presence of Lady as in the truly historic new five-disc set "Billie Holiday: Rare Live Recordings 1934-1959" on Bernard Stollman's ESP-Disk label (on Amazon, in stores, or at espdisk.com).

I always enjoy your comments, since they are not far from centre, and tend to swing both ways. I tend to be more of a hairy-fisted, knuckle-dragging mining engineer, and the sight of me with hairy legs, knobby knees, and wearing a kilt coming over the ridge is something that few have been priviledged to have seen and survived (sorry, I forgot to mention the bayonnet part as well, but you probably get the idea). Canadians are legendary as Peacekeepers. We are also well known as the 'Ladies from Hell' due to our kilts. Best Regards. Posted 27/12/07 at 2:17 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .
